RetroCollect Squad Secret Mission Competition!

Along side our plethora of competitions/challenges for +Replay Events Ltd re.play zone at PlayExpo this year, we've been having a queit friendly competition amongst the RetroCollect Squad. The mission for those who accepted it, was to come up with a unique challenge for a specific system.

These systems included, The NEC PCEngine, Sega's MegaDrive & Dreamcast, Nintendo's SNES & N64, Sony's Playstation & PS2, and finally the Atari 2600! The winning entry will be revealed on the 4th October, and the challenge will be available for you to play on Sunday the 12th October from 15.00 Hrs.

Retromission: Retro games & beers galore..

Had a great time catching up with the usual suspects (+Matt Brown & the RetroLords) and even had a rather nice curry!

I managed to win a Namco PS1 Arcade stick, that I have been after for ages in the Saturday charity auction. Along with some random PS1, Sega Master System & MegaDrive games, and a few dvd's of Mean Machines, Mean Machines Sega, Sinclair Magazines bidding was as usual full of banter and taunts ;)

This is not #Retro, but I've been hopelessly searching for this forever out in the wild, only to find loads! I was actually given a sealed version too, #ProjectZero 2 for the #Wii found at GAME in Basingstoke.

Introducing #TopDownTuesday

So I started #TopDownTuesday this week on Twitter & Instagram, lets see how it goes.. Possibly going to be easier for Nintendo Fans, but I'm sure the Sega crew will come through too. 

1st up is Bomberman 64 Arcade Edition. #Fact: LAST this was the last N64 game to come out in Japan.

Then a brand new Genesis 6 button Control Pad I've had for at least 9 years.

Finally Hudson Soft's SAMEGAME for the Super Famicom!

Weekend business

Invested time this weekend with prepping & checking some of RetroCollect's unannounced +Replay Events Ltd @PlayExpo line up, play testing and taking some pics.

Had a phone call with Atari fanatic Kieran Hawken, after he got in contact with the +RetroCollect Squad about some Atari Jaguar related stuff! More on that soon (after we have a few beers & a game or few at RetroMission 2013).

Oh yeah, I finished up EDF4 / EDF 2025 on easy difficulty! Nearly finished up the accompanying article, just a little more sugar to add!

RetroMission 2013

Just a swift note to let you all know RetroCollect will be attending RetroMission 2013 in under 2 weeks! This Retro gamer friendly event is held in The White House, no not that one! It's a cosy Oxfordshire pub, previously known as the Folly Bridge Inn. The games start on the 21st and like the beer will probably spill over into the Sunday.

There will be a charity auction and gaming competitions which we suggest you take part in!

Finishing up the single player of D3 Publisher & Sandlot's Earth Defense Forces 4 this weekend (hopefully)! Should be hitting up the RetroCollect site soon with a finished article, what would you like to see included?

Preparing for a re.play of events

A busy month ahead for me as we at RetroCollect finish up our re.play preparations for PlayExpo in Manchester (Oct 12th & 13th). Whilst we have made our initial event line up known there is still a lot more to come, including a few opportunities for you to Create-A-Challenge!

For the Create-A-Challenge competitions we're looking for something diverse and exciting, that will be run for a few hours with little maintenance (this is due to the volume of already TBA challenges we have ready to rock!).
Time Attacks, or Score Attacks (High or Low), Survival modes are all perfect for this. We're hoping for some unusual games to be opted for, and we'll be able to run Multi-Region games on the systems too.
